What we've shipped.

Product updates to Baselumen, newest first. Each release is dated from the day it shipped and marked added, changed or fixed.

v0.20.0

A page hero on every marketing page

added

Platform, agentic, why, about, pricing, security, the five system pages, agencies, accessibility, FAQ, roadmap, ethics and the CLI now open with one hero: a drawing of the app in its window, or a tour of several screens, with the page's own highlights under the lede.

Live demos on the marketing pages

added

The marketing pages are rebuilt section by section, with working pieces of the app in place of pictures: Copy as and the Import shelf on /components, the template viewer with its page tabs and device widths on /templates, artboard presets and boolean operations on /design, an audit run and a contrast check on /tools, token scopes on /agents and /security, a member invite on /agencies and a command tour on /cli.

The homepage tour plays

changed

The tour starts as soon as its window is in view and moves every 4.6 seconds. Each screen replays as it arrives: its cards and inspector rows rise in turn, its scores count up and a drawn pointer clicks through it. Nothing moves when reduced motion is on.

Faster pages, and no fonts from a third party

changed

Marketing pages no longer load every component's stylesheet, about 415KB less before the first paint on /components and on every page that counts the library. Inter is served from baselumen.com itself, so no page asks a third party for a font.

One set of policies for the suite

changed

The legal pages show the suite's shared documents, so baselumen.com and stacklumen.com state the same terms in the same words. Each page keeps its version, effective date, scope, short version and numbered sections.

Five steps hold one row

fixed

On a wide screen a list of five steps or fewer stays on one row, so /agentic's fifth goal no longer sits alone.

The Preferences corner on phones

fixed

On a phone the Preferences corner stays tucked over the first screen, where it covered the hero's app window, and fades in once you scroll on.

v0.19.0

A page for each system

added

Components, Design, Tools, Templates and Agents each have a page of their own at /components, /design, /tools, /templates and /agents, walking the system screen by screen in drawings of the app as it ships.

Pricing

added

Baselumen has its own pricing page at /pricing: what Free, Pro and Agency include here, the site plans and add-ons, and a plan-by-plan table. One plan per agency carries Baselumen, the Hub and Terminal together, and billing is not switched on during the public alpha.

About, agencies, security, accessibility, FAQ and roadmap

added

New pages at /about, /agencies, /security, /accessibility, /faq and /roadmap: the company and how Baselumen came together, how an agency runs workspaces, members and clients, what protects your account and data, how the components and the site meet WCAG AA, common questions, and how the roadmap works.

A new homepage

changed

The homepage describes the whole product — components, templates, the designer, tools and agents — with a drawing of each, and the contact form now lives on the page itself.

Reading pages live at the root

changed

Docs, the changelog, the CLI, support, Why Baselumen and the legal pages moved out of /app to /docs, /changelog, /cli, /support, /why and /legal. Every old address forwards to its new one, so saved links keep working.

The navbar and footer

changed

The bar is Platform, Pricing and Resources. Resources opens on a tile for each system — Components, Templates, Design, Tools and Agents — and the CLI, and with the footer it reaches every new page.

The CLI is in active development

changed

The CLI page, the FAQ and the pricing table say plainly that the baselumen CLI is not released yet. Until it is, an agent connected over MCP reaches the same catalogue.

Unite, subtract, intersect and exclude

fixed

The designer's boolean operations, the shape builder and outline stroke returned nothing in the browser. They combine and cut shapes again.

Audit fine print

fixed

The audits no longer say running one subscribes you to a newsletter, which it never did, and their Terms and Privacy links open the right pages.

Passing results are blue

fixed

The contrast checker, the speed and site audit PDFs and the landmark map drew passing results in green; they use the brand blue like the rest of the app.

v0.18.0

The designer

added

Print-accurate artboards in millimetres, with bleed and trim marked, for business cards, letterheads, logos and brand assets: shapes, the pen and path tools, type, gradients, effects, templates and history, saved to your workspace and sent to a Terminal site's assets with Push. Open it from Design in the bar; while a design is open the bar becomes the designer's one row.

Designs

added

Every design your workspace makes, filed by the client it was made for, under Design → Designs, with search, sorting and the Dev Program a click away from each one.

Designs over MCP

added

Your AI agent can list, open, create and edit designs with the designer's own drawing operations, and push them to a Terminal site, on the components scopes it already has.

v0.17.1

Clients see their work in Stacklumen

changed

An agency invites the people at a client company as guests in Stacklumen, where Shared with you holds their sites, designs, messages and approvals. The old client links in Baselumen now open Shared with you, and the agency screens that went with them are gone.

v0.17.0

Your agent connects over MCP

added

Your AI agent connects to Baselumen by signing in with your Stacklumen account: add a custom connector with www.baselumen.com/app/api/mcp and allow it. An agent that cannot sign in, and the CLI, can still use a token from Agents & MCP.

The Component Studio over MCP

added

An agent can list, read, create and edit your custom components, fork a library component into the Studio, pin components to a Terminal site's designer shelf, and manage your profile, settings and workspace details.

No AI key

changed

The in-app agent and the provider-key form are gone. The star opens Connect via MCP, and your agent runs on your own plan.

v0.16.0

One bar, one page

changed

The side rail and canvas toolbar give way to a single bar across the top: Overview, the Libraries, Tools and Product menus, ⌘K search, the agent, updates, notifications and your account. Every screen sits on one page beneath it, and old bookmarks still land in the right place.

Overview is about your library

changed

The dashboard reports copies, tool runs, templates, the targets you copy to and your recent activity. The component library, component pages, tools, templates and reports are redrawn to match.

Flat buttons

changed

Primary buttons are flat Baselumen blue, and secondary buttons share the neutral style used across Stacklumen.

v0.15.1

Blue and yellow, everywhere the mark appears

changed

The mark, the favicons, the Dashboard button and the share card move to blue and yellow, with the mark’s fourth square in solid yellow.

v0.15.0

Kestrel, a trade-services template

added

The seventh template. The phone number and response time sit in the bar on every page, prices are stated up front, and coverage gets a page of its own.

Component Studio, rebuilt

changed

A library and search rail, a live-preview artboard and a tool tray, in the same three-column layout as the rest of Stacklumen.

The agent panel

changed

The agent opens in the same panel as the rest of Stacklumen, with a choice of three model providers and your key added right in the panel. It works with touch, too.

Components arrive in Terminal as they look

fixed

Every component in the library now reaches Terminal’s Baselumen panel, and the navbars, pricing card and FAQs import intact.

Faster pages

changed

Pages stop waiting on lookups they have already made, and component and template previews are cached closer to you.

v0.14.1

Blue and yellow return

changed

Baselumen goes back to its original colours: brand blue for everything you can click, and yellow as the highlight.

Bring your own model key

added

A workspace can add its own AI provider key, used by the agent and by Component Studio’s generator.

Templates that show their work

changed

Five templates now back up what they claim: a type specimen, the projects that ran over budget, an incident write-up and a full care pathway.

The app renders in Inter

fixed

Type across the app had been falling back to Helvetica. It now loads Inter as intended.

Failed checks are red in dark mode

fixed

Audit reports in dark mode show failures in red again rather than grey.

v0.14.0

An agent in the app

added

Ask about the library and the agent can search components, open them for you and offer a copy button. It reads and navigates; it never changes anything.

Four navbars that need no JavaScript

added

Dock, mega, rail and split navbars that open with CSS alone, in HTML + CSS, React, Vue and Svelte, and collapse to a menu button on a phone-width canvas in Terminal.

Six banners

added

Three slim page banners (ticker, status and offer) and three in-page bands, in light and dark, with no JavaScript.

Reduced motion, everywhere

changed

Every component in the library now respects your reduced-motion setting.

Ethics & commitments

added

A page on how Baselumen builds and uses AI, and what it promises about support.

v0.13.0

One component library, five copy targets

changed

HTML + CSS, React, Vue and Svelte become one Components screen with a picker, so switching keeps your scroll, filters and search. A fifth target copies the markup and its styles as one block for Terminal. Old links redirect.

Eight new heroes

added

Written in HTML and CSS first, with every visual drawn in code rather than loaded as an image.

Tools in one catalog

changed

The tools and audits become one catalog you can filter, with instant tools kept apart from audits that fetch a URL. Tailwind to CSS is listed there and in ⌘K.

Agency and Account, each on one screen

changed

Agency and account settings each become a single screen with tabs, and the side rail goes from 41 rows to 12.

Styles in Terminal’s Baselumen panel

fixed

Components placed from Terminal’s Baselumen panel carry their stylesheets again.

v0.12.1

Public alpha: no plan needed

changed

While Baselumen is in public alpha, every feature is open to signed-in accounts, including component source, template downloads, tools and audits. Signing in is still required.

v0.12.0

Six templates, seven pages each

added

Cadence (a web design agency), Ridgeline (a consultancy) and Solace Health join Meridian, Atelier and Foundry. Each has its own layout, a mega menu and mobile menu that work without JavaScript, and dark mode.

The website opens dark

changed

The marketing pages default to dark mode, with a theme switch on desktop as well as mobile. The app itself stays light unless you choose dark.

v0.11.0

Templates

added

Whole multi-page sites, starting with Meridian, Atelier and Foundry, to preview and download.

Agents and MCP

added

Connect an AI agent to the library over MCP with a token from the new Agents page, scoped to your workspace or a single client and set to expire. Agents can search components, fetch source and read the design tokens.

Import to Terminal

added

Pick components from the library and pin them to a Stacklumen Terminal site.

Reports

added

Finished audits collect on a Reports screen, and older invitation links still open.

A new mark and navigation bar

changed

A four-square mark on a purple, blue and ember ramp, a new navigation bar on the public pages, and cookie preferences on every public page.

Built for large screens

changed

Below 1024px the app says it needs a larger screen rather than showing a cramped layout. The public pages still work on a phone.

Copy .vue and Copy .svelte

fixed

Both buttons copy the right file. They had been copying the HTML.

v0.10.0

Tools and audits move in

added

Baselumen becomes the home for the web tools and site audits, alongside the component library.

The library ships as code

changed

The builder library is retired. Every one of its components is still here in HTML + CSS, React, Vue and Svelte.

A new home page and a Platform page

changed

The home page leads with “Build. Audit. Hand over.”, and a new Platform page walks through components and tools.

An orange accent

changed

Orange becomes the accent colour, with purple as the second.

Sign-in brings you back

fixed

Signing in from Baselumen no longer leaves you on another app’s dashboard.

v0.9.5

A legal centre

added

Eight plain-English policies (terms, privacy, cookies, acceptable use, data processing, subprocessors, billing and copyright) in one place, linked from the footer and from sign-up.

Docs, redesigned

changed

The documentation takes the design the rest of Stacklumen is moving to.

v0.9.4

Docs that describe the library

changed

Every output format with its real count, plus the token table, collections, Tailwind to CSS and copy allowances.

Shortcuts on a phone

changed

The docs and roadmap shortcuts stay in the app bar at every width.

Panels with depth

changed

Cards and panels lift off the canvas with soft shadows instead of outlines, and hovers respond faster.

v0.9.3

Docs from every screen

added

A docs shortcut in the frame toolbar, and the full shared documentation becomes the docs page.

A fuller profile, and your agency’s brand

added

Headline, bio, links and skills for you; tagline, services, colours and type for your agency. Each can have an optional public page, and both stay in step across the Stacklumen apps.

A simpler navigation bar

changed

Product, Docs, Changelog and Contact, with a single Dashboard button.

Dark mode on the public pages

fixed

The navigation, docs, changelog and legal pages now follow dark mode.

Invitations can be accepted

fixed

Invitation links open and can be accepted.

v0.9.2

Your agency in the rail

added

Upload your agency’s logo and it appears with your workspace name at the top of the rail, in every Stacklumen app.

Copies by client

added

Pick a client and the components you copy are recorded against them.

Screens refresh themselves

changed

Open screens fetch fresh data when you return to the tab, and every so often while you are on it.

Better-formatted docs

changed

Inline code, labelled code blocks with a copy button, and numbered steps.

The account menu on iPhone

fixed

It opens on the first tap.

v0.9.1

The beta ends: source needs a plan again

changed

Component source is behind a plan again, and a locked screen explains what it needs instead of loading into errors.

Category rails on the listings

changed

The React and HTML + CSS listings show each category as its own scrolling row, with much less rounding throughout.

Previews match their components

fixed

Every component is paired with its own stylesheet, and previews refresh as soon as a component changes.

v0.9.0

Plans belong to the workspace

changed

One subscription covers everyone in the workspace, and paying for a plan unlocks it for the whole team.

Frame and canvas themes

added

The frame and the working canvas each have their own light or dark setting, and the frame can take a brand tint.

v0.8.3

The builder library is on hold

changed

Its tab shows a coming-soon page while that format is prepared, and the site leads with what ships today: components in HTML + CSS, React, Vue and Svelte.

v0.8.2

Roadmap, feature requests and community

added

A roadmap in the app with a request board you can vote on, a feature-request form that asks for the problem rather than the fix, and a link to the Discord community.

Know when a component you copied changes

added

The canvas toolbar flags components you copied that have been updated since.

A welcome tour

added

New accounts get a short tour and a guided setup for their workspace.

Shared documentation

added

Docs on accounts, workspaces, clients, trials, roles and billing, the same in every Stacklumen app.

A new mark

changed

A framed square with a pulled-out corner replaces the pinwheel.

v0.8.1

Vue and Svelte, and a Tailwind converter

added

Vue and Svelte get their own tabs, generated from the same HTML and CSS as everything else. Tailwind to CSS converts in your browser, one direction only.

People, invitations and roles

added

Invite people, remove them, and give each one a role: owner, admin, member or viewer. Invitations last 14 days.

A proper 404 page

fixed

A mistyped address now lands on a styled page with working links.

v0.8.0

The HTML + CSS library

added

Framework-free components get their own listing and detail pages, previewed from the real HTML and CSS, with a copy button per file. It grew from 31 components to 104 the same day.

Agency, Billing and Profile

added

Three screens shared with the other Stacklumen apps, plus a canvas toolbar with Refresh.

Copy buttons, filter counts and the phone menu

fixed

Copy says when it fails instead of doing nothing, the category counts add up and read in dark mode, and the account menu is tappable on a phone.

v0.7.2

Your activity on the dashboard

added

Copies per day, copies by surface, your most-copied components and the full history, for your whole workspace.

Every copy is recorded

fixed

Copies from the component libraries now count toward your history, and the privacy policy explains what is recorded and who in your workspace can see it.

Support requests in the app

added

Raise a request from inside Baselumen and follow it with the rest of your workspace.

Core Commitments

added

A page setting out what usage is recorded, what is never done with it, and when stored data is looked at.

v0.7.1

Component Studio

added

Browse the newest components in the library and generate a new one from a description.

One sign-in for Stacklumen

changed

Baselumen signs you in with your Stacklumen account and brings you back to the page you asked for. Signing out signs you out everywhere.

v0.7.0

The app joins the Stacklumen frame

changed

Signed in, Baselumen runs in the same frame as the other Stacklumen apps: a product bar, a collapsible rail and one canvas. Moving between sections, or opening a component, no longer reloads the page.

⌘K search

added

Search opens a command palette over whatever you are looking at, covering everything in the navigation.

Dark mode in the app

added

The libraries, component pages and account screens follow the app’s dark theme.

Beta access to component source

changed

During the beta, every signed-in account can view and copy component source, within a daily allowance.

v0.6.1

A mobile menu that drills down

changed

Each menu opens as its own panel, the drawer fills the screen, and every row has the same size and tap target.

v0.6.0

Brand blue, with a yellow highlight

changed

The app moves onto the brand blue with a yellow highlight, a new wordmark and icon, and the public pages share the marketing site’s buttons and type.

An animated hero

added

A drawn, animated hero on every public page, which holds still if you prefer reduced motion.

Light by default

changed

The site opens in light mode. Dark is one toggle away and remembered.

v0.5.1

Private beta

changed

The app, the footer, the home page and the CLI page describe Baselumen as a private, paid beta rather than a public alpha.

v0.5.0

Paid plans

added

Two monthly plans with checkout and self-serve billing, and a monthly copy allowance with an upgrade prompt when you reach it.

Copying needs a plan

changed

Component source is shown only to subscribers.

Developer and agency preferences

added

Your framework, package manager, styling approach and default copy surface, saved to your account.

Terms of Service and a legal hub

added

Full terms, a legal hub, and a consent line at sign-up.

Docs on tokens, attributes and theming

added

A guide to component anatomy, tokens and how they cascade, attributes, theming and naming, with four hands-on tutorials.

v0.4.0

Template collections

added

Northwind, Bricklumen and Foliotype arrive as complete kits (88 components between them) with a collection filter, taking the library to 165.

Both libraries at parity

changed

Every one of the 77 core components now has a React build, under one set of categories, and the sidebar search works.

Cleaner copied code

fixed

Internal build notes are stripped from every component, so what you copy is the component and nothing else.

v0.3.1

Green becomes blue

changed

The accent moves from green to blue, with a new logo, favicon and social card.

A real token reference, and a Why page

added

The attributes reference documents the actual tokens, scoped tokens, class conventions and hooks, all searchable. A new Why page sets out the approach.

The builder library lists all 77

changed

Every core component is listed, each with its React build.

v0.3.0

19 section components

added

Whole sections for multi-page sites (navigation, heroes, pricing, proof and team), each with its HTML, CSS and an anatomy doc, taking the source library to 31.

v0.2.1

Profile and account

added

A profile editor and an account manager with Profile, Account, Security and Plan tabs, reachable from the navigation and the footer.

Copy works where the clipboard is blocked

fixed

The copy button falls back when the browser blocks clipboard access, and only says Copied when it really copied.

v0.2.0

The React library

added

Self-contained, copyable React components with live previews of the real component: twenty at launch, then 58 the next day, with sign-in to copy, live counts and filters.

A mega menu and the CLI page

added

Components and Resources in the main navigation, and a first look at pulling the library from a terminal.

v0.1.1

Showcase and contact pages

added

An interim showcase of the library, and a contact page with mailing-list consent.

A new logo, and an alpha banner

changed

A new Baselumen logo and favicon, and a banner above the navigation marking the alpha.

v0.1.0

Baselumen launches

added

An early alpha: sign-in, the component source library and its specification, documentation, legal pages and this changelog, in the original green.
